His debut album ''The Hypocrite'' was released in 1996 by Elton John's label named The Rocket Record Company.〔 Downe opened for The Who,〔(【引用サイトリンク】 Rolling Stone gives lineup for The Who's 1997 Tour )〕 and for Iggy Pop,〔(【引用サイトリンク】 MTV gives lineup for Iggy Pop's 1997 Tour )〕 during their 1997 tours. Downe then joined up with Luley, keyboardist Tom Lynham and drummer / co-lead-singer Matt Swindells to create the band (Moth Vellum ). Their first and only album was well received in the Prog Rock community, selling well on both sides of the Atlantic. The album is still available at (My Sonic Temple ).
